Grown at the Cultural Roots Nursery Farm in Winters, CA. Also known as Hulu in China or as Doodhi/Lauki in India. Bottle gourd is a versatile ingredient in a number of Asian dishes. For best germination, soak the seeds overnight. Start indoors or on a seedling heat mat in March and transplant outdoors at the end of April and May (Zone 9). In areas with frost, plant outside after the threat of frost has passed. Grown using organic methods.
